What is Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement
Testing method using ultrasonic wave to inspect the material (metal) thickness of piping and structural steel to monitor corrosion and erosion.
How does the technology work
Ultrasonic pulse generated by probe send 90 degrees signal into the material and calculate the time the pulse reflect back to the probe to determine the thickness of testing subject.
Application of Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement
- Measure test subject thickness
- Monitoring of specific location on piping and flowline subject to internal corrosion and/or erosion.
- Mostly use on carbon steel materials
- Pressured vessel and tank
Problem detection
- Excessive corrosion and erosion
